More madness from labour-lite, Clark gets an ONZ

by admin on December 23, 2009 · 23 comments

They are going to give the big gong to Helen Clark in the New years honours list. Yup, your grandchildren will still be paying off the debt that Clark and Cullen stuck us with and she gets an ONZ.

For services to nasty?

For being a liar?

For being a thief?

For sabotaging birthing in this country?

This is supposed to be embargoed . Fuck that.

Right that feels better, now for something even more bizarre. Kevin Barry gets a minor gong as well.

Not sure what it is for, wonder how Tua feels about that? All those punches in the face and the light fingered manager gets the gong. Maybe it is for services to male pattern baldness and the wig industry?

There really is no distance between National and Labour, they just take it in turns to stick it in us. Here’s hoping for a massive earthquake in Wellington the first day parliament sits in the new year.

Oh, and Cam. If the embargo breach upsets you. You can suck my hairy arse.

No apology needed but I must say your sources are impeccable, I hadn’t heard a thing until you posted this. Now I am livid. There will be retribution.

Livid. You have no idea how angry I am. The committee that decided this will no doubt hide behind the “but it is convention” wesel words.
Who the fuck is in charge? We have seen National bend over backwards to reward Clark and Cullen. The only conclusion that can be drawn is that the members of the committee are just laying favours knowing that when the wheel turns and labour get the big seat they will remember their mates and hand out some in return.

You are obviously a complete bigot and have no sense of history – Helen Clark was a great PM and most New Zealanders think so – she is consistently voted the greatest living New Zealander following the death of Ed Hillary and also won 3 elections. And now holds the 3rd highest office in the UN.

You have obviously forgotten the Clark-led treason that gutted the NZ Defence Force’s ability to apply force against anyone transgressing our EEZ (you are possibly too young to remember the Taiwanese fishing vessel Kim Nan, and the inability of our Navy to catch it while it was stealing fish. The RNZAF stopped it cold– Skyhawk, if I have not been direct enough). Her purely socialist , doctrinaire approach to defence left us unable to defend the nation. In earlier times she would have been hung, drawn, and quartered, not given an Honour.

Absolutly spewing over Clark!

I’m hoping the Kevin Barry will be the father of Tua’s coach.

KB senior is a good guy and totally deserving.
Does heaps with wayward kids and all sorts of good stuff.
Pity his son is such a wanker.

I would like to see HClark offered an damehood (or in this case, a Knighthood) because she has said she would not accept one. If I was a cheeky Nat, I would publicy announce the offer to make her come out in her nasty way to slag off Honours and then withdraw the ONZ

Razork, it never occured to me it might be the Father. Thanks for pointing this out. If so I will amend the post when it is confirmed. In my defense.. It is hard to post coherently when the red mist descends and it certainly did when I was fed the complete list with Clarks name at the top.

She deserves this honour. She was one of New Zealand’s greatest PM’s – elected 3 times. I’m a National supporter and although I might not necessarily support all of her policies – she certainly made a difference. Look at how she left NZ compared to what she inherited from Shipley. Labour’s policy of no tax cuts but debt repayment instead has certainly paid off and the country was left in a position whereby we can now borrow our way out of trouble for a few years. Her support of arts and culture, her deep understanding of New Zealand’s history, of veterans and of the Maori Pakeha relationship has left us with a wonderful legacy. If the present government achieves anything approaching her legacy I will be amazed. And now she can use these obvious talents on the International stage in the UN. What other New Zealand PM has ever achieved anything approaching her achievements? Maybe Richard John Seddon, Michael Joseph Savage, John Ballance, Peter Fraser, Keith Jacka Holyoake . She was a great PM and her legacy will be appreciated for years and years. She truly made a difference so give credit where credit is due.

Obviously some people prefer their women to have whips rather than good sexual attributes. Clark and her lot beat the shit out of Kiwi’s and its bloody pathetic to hear and watch the sycophantic bleating praising her.
She did in the first term do some neat things but temper that with the increase in tax rates that contributed to our downward spiral and continued difficulties, with the export of over half a million Kiwi’s to other countries, to the snarling attitude towards her paymasters, her corrupt behavoir and her condoning of that behavoir in others.
This is all about appeasement and the Public Service anointing one of their own with a reward for the growth in public service and the even larger growth in their wages. Unfortunately the Nats. are so spineless they didn’t have the guts to say no but went to Copenhagen so they didn”t have to take the blame.
This is sure going to piss a lot of people off.

Deep understanding of the “haters & wreckers” that were going to be “the last cab off the rank, ’cause I got other options”?

What spendathon ? Did they borrow to pay for it?. ( while the debt went down massively as well)
National opposed all the spending while in opposition so THEY can repeal the whole bloody lot– if they want to be out on their arse in 2 years .
The childcare , the student loans, the working for families tax cuts, Go ahead ‘insist it all going and you will hold your breath until it happens ‘!

FFS this is unbelievable. the damage the last labour governement did to the country’s economy, and the numerous episodes of law breaking, not to mention granting of immediate diplomatic status to avoid close affiliates from being indicted for homosexual paedophile activity is reprehensible. The closes Clark should get to a gong should be the one sounding when the trapdoor is about to be opened

There are very obvious reasons why this information was leaked. Our fomer PM presided over a govt that radically expanded the welfare state, when it was completely necessary to do so. A cynical, thinly veiled effort to make a majority of Kiwi families dependent on the state. They trousered 700k of taxpayer funds to steal the 2005 election, in addition to the PM stiring up hatred, by persecuting a religious minority group. Then they attempted to interfere with basic democratic principles, through the EFA. Need I go on? Many of us felt a dictatorship was being foisted upon us through the back door. There are still many elements of this regime practising in local govt, though most will be removed in the coming year.

A week is a long time to revisit these facts. The ONZ should go to the whistle blower who leaked the list.

You have done New Zealand a Service here revealing this outrageous information, while some may feel a certain ex-PM deserves the ONZ it would be far more prudent to offer her the knighthood she most obviously does not want and save the ONZ for someone truly deserving. Even if the public does suppose she does deserve it why not save it for the event that she may one day be the Secretary General of the UN. If Prime Minister John Key is planning on this action perhaps he should plan on doing a similar action to what SIR Robert Muldoon did those years ago.

I just hope certain other ex-MPs are not included on this particular list…

National has done so much damage to NZ on the international stage in 12 months it’s unbelievable – NZ is in the good situation it is because of Helen’s policies – I hope she accepts – she deserves it.

aaa is that short for ‘an absolute asshat’?
How do you justify that National have done damage to NZ’s image on the international scene? The policies that have been implemented are different to Labour’s in what way? How does burdening your future generations with $1billion dollars a month in debt for 7 years until the previous cockups can be accounted for ever leave the country with a legacy worthy of anything other than derision? How does bankrupting the safety network that was ACC by turning it into WINZ (II), with the intent that National has no option but to privatise it so you can then come back in future elections and use it as an example of Nationals evil capitalist ways make your government a great one?
Does your ignorance know no bounds?
Justify your statement with examples of why you believe the statement you made is an accurate one, and then let the debate begin.

Apparently Clarke’s acceptance of the ONZ is a violation of UN rules:

UN Staff Rule 1.2 “No staff member shall accept any honour, decoration, favour, gift, or remuneration from any Government….If refusal of an unanticipated honour, decoration, favour or gift from a Government would cause embarrassment to the Organization, the staff member may receive it on behalf of the Organization and then report and entrust it to the Secretary-General, who will either retain it for the Organization or arrange for its disposal for the benefit of the Organization or for a charitable purpose.”

Source: http://www.innercitypress.com/undp3hclark123009.h...

Also interesting comment on this site that Clarke has yet to hold a UN press conference since taking over at the UN Development Program.
